Ban (반) means half, so ban-ban is literally “half-half.” It is how Koreans solve the impossible choice between crispy plain chicken and sauced chicken: one box, two flavors.
The most classic split is half fried, half yangnyeom — but most stores let you combine almost any two flavors.

Half and half, please.
🍗 Use it at BBQ: First time at BBQ? Go half Golden Olive, half Yangnyeom. You'll cover both poles of the Korean chicken universe in one order.
